After bowing to Bergrivier in the last four years, this year it was Weltevrede's turn to win their FNB Classic Clash against their Wellington rivals. The score was 10-8 but in such a tense derby, a win is the source of great joy.
There was as usual a big crowd at Boland Stadium for the match and they were kept entertained and then enthralled by the festivities of the day which lasted nearly eight hours.
Weltevrede led 10-0 at half-time, but then Bergrivier fought back and in the end only a conversion stood between victory and defeat.
